It’s hard to believe that STAREAST 2008 is over! By all accounts, I think we can say that the conference was a great success. From the keynotes, tutorials and track sessions, to the special events, and networking opportunities, people left full of new ideas and energized to go back and put their knowledge and skills to work.
At STAREAST, I had the opportunity to sit and chat with many of our delegates. It’s one of my favorite parts of any conference. In between the intense learning that occurs, it’s great to hear from people about the challenges they’re facing now and where they think the industry is headed. When you get over a thousand people together, the rich stories and networking opportunities that arise are just wonderful. And our delegates truly are the best! I particularly enjoyed watching everyone at Vegas Casino Night. To say that our delegates are an analytical bunch is a vast understatement; just imagine hundreds of testing and QA professionals calculating odds and risks and making sure the dealers were on their game!
So now we start the months of pre-planning that goes into next year’s STAREAST. It’ll be quiet for a while, but everything is poised for next year’s planning. The hotel is ready and waiting, and so are we. Before we know it, our Program Chair, Lee Copeland, will start to build the program. Already the conference team is combing through all of the feedback we recieved to make next year’s event even better!
If you weren’t able to make it this year, consider this your personal invitation to join us next year. We’ll be back at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida, May 4-8, 2009. We’ll see you there!
